[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 15일(현지시간) 새벽 이란 이슬람 공화국과의 협상이 타결되었다고 발표하며, 전략적 요충지인 호르무즈 해협의 개방과 미 해군의 봉쇄 조치 즉각 해제를 승인했다고 밝혔다.

트럼프 미국 대통령은 이날 오전 6시 29분 자신의 소셜미디어 플랫폼인 트루스 소셜을 통해 "이란 이슬람 공화국과의 거래가 이제 완료됐다. 모두 축하한다"고 전했다. 이어 "본인은 이로써 호르무즈 해협의 통행료 없는 개방을 전면 승인하며, 이와 동시에 미 해군의 봉쇄 조치를 즉각 해제할 것을 승인한다"고 밝혔다.

트럼프 전 대통령은 특유의 수사적 표현으로 "세계의 선박들이여, 엔진을 켜라. 석유가 흐르게 하라!"라는 문장으로 글을 맺었다.

WASHINGTON (W.H) — Donald J. Trump announced early Monday that a deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran has been finalized, declaring that he has authorized the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the immediate removal of a U.S. Naval blockade.

"The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete," Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform at 6:29 a.m. "I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade."

In his characteristic rhetorical style, Trump concluded his post by writing, "Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"

The unexpected announcement signals a dramatic shift in Middle East policy, though key details of the agreement—and whether it was coordinated with international allies or military leadership—remain unclear.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global chokepoint through which a significant portion of the world's petroleum passes. Tension in the region has historically disrupted global energy markets.
