[Here is the English version of the article] Police Chase Foreign Suspects Who Fled Abroad After Spray-Painting Graffiti on Busan Subway Train

The Busan Gangseo Police Station has launched an international manhunt for two foreign nationals who fled the country after defacing a subway train with graffiti. Authorities announced that they are seeking an Interpol Red Notice and taking steps to secure the suspects' extradition back to South Korea.

According to the police, a 20-something Australian national, identified as A, and a 30-something Belgian national, identified as B, broke into a subway depot in Gangseo-gu, Busan, during the early hours of June 23. The duo is accused of using spray paint to cover the exterior of a two-car train that was parked and waiting for operation. Immediately after the act, they boarded a Seoul-bound KTX bullet train to escape the region.

Upon receiving the report, the Gangseo Police Station immediately formed a collaborative investigation network with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and the Incheon Airport Police Corps. The subsequent investigation revealed that the suspects used sophisticated tactics to evade the police. Throughout their escape, they wore face masks, changed their clothing two to three times, paid exclusively in cash, and got off at different stations to confuse investigators. Despite the pursuit, police confirmed that the suspects had already departed for Brunei from Incheon International Airport on the morning of June 24, the day after the crime.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Division at the Gangseo Police Station stated that they will swiftly request an Interpol Red Notice to bring the suspects back to South Korea. In addition to criminal charges, authorities are reviewing civil damage claims to hold the perpetrators financially accountable for the vandalism, while also establishing an entry notification system to ensure an immediate arrest should they ever return to the country.
