[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자]부산국제영화제 커뮤니티비프가 관객이 직접 프로그램을 기획하고 참여하는 ‘리퀘스트시네마: 신청하는 영화관’의 프로그램 선정 투표를 24일(금)부터 오는 31일(금)까지 진행한다고 밝혔다.

올해로 2026년을 맞이한 ‘리퀘스트시네마’는 관객이 단순한 관람객을 넘어 프로그래머로서 영화제에 직접 참여하는 커뮤니티비프의 대표 프로그램이다. 지난 6월 8일부터 21일까지 진행된 공개 모집에서는 역대 최다인 92건, 209편의 아이디어가 접수되며 뜨거운 관심을 모았다. 이 가운데 예심을 통과한 42건, 52편의 프로그램이 최종 편성을 두고 경합을 벌인다.

이번 상영작들은 단순한 영화 상영을 넘어 공연, 싱어롱, 드레스코드 콘테스트, 비밀 임무 수행 등 다채로운 이벤트가 결합된 것이 특징이다. 또한 뇌과학자, 심리상담사, 인기 유튜버, 라디오 DJ, 영화수입사 대표 등 다양한 분야의 콘텐츠 크리에이터들이 참여해 관객과 깊이 있는 대화를 나눌 예정이다.

최종 상영작은 관객 투표(70%)와 심층 평가(30%)를 거쳐 15개 내외의 프로그램이 선정된다. 투표는 오는 7월 31일까지 온라인 플랫폼 ‘빠띠 타운홀’을 통해 진행되며, 1인당 최대 4개까지 선택할 수 있다. 자세한 내용은 부산국제영화제 커뮤니티비프 공식 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있다.

한편, 관객과 함께 호흡하는 커뮤니티비프는 오는 10월 8일(목)부터 10월 11일(일)까지 중구 남포동 일원에서 개최된다. 이와 함께 제31회 부산국제영화제와 동네방네비프는 10월 6일(화)부터 10월 15일(목)까지 영화의전당 및 부산시 전역에서 관객들을 찾아간다.

The era of simply watching films at a festival is over. Audiences can enjoy events alongside film viewings—such as live performances, sing-alongs, dress code contests, and secret mission tasks—while meeting and engaging in deep conversations with content creators, including neuroscientists, psychological counselors, popular YouTubers, radio DJs, and film import company representatives. "Request Cinema," Community BIFF's flagship program where audience members step up as programmers to participate directly from planning to operation, has brought forth an outpouring of viewer ideas that strike right at the heart of contemporary South Korean film culture. These concepts, brimming with individuality and imagination, now face the final hurdle for this year's lineup: the "Program Selection Vote."

The 2026 Request Cinema held an open call from Monday, June 8 to Sunday, June 21, receiving a record-breaking 92 submissions consisting of 209 films. Among them, 42 programs comprising 52 films that passed the preliminary review will compete, with around 15 programs ultimately chosen through a combination of audience voting (70%) and in-depth evaluation (30%).

Voting runs from Friday, July 24 to Friday, July 31 on the online platform "Parti Townhall," allowing each participant to select up to four programs. Detailed information regarding the vote can be found on the Busan International Film Festival Community BIFF official website (community.biff.kr).

Community BIFF, created together with audiences, will take place from Thursday, October 8 to Sunday, October 11 in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu. Meanwhile, the 31st Busan International Film Festival and Neighborhood BIFF will be held from Tuesday, October 6 to Thursday, October 15 at the Busan Cinema Center and venues citywide across Busan.
