[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 해운대 관광특구가 문화체육관광부의 '글로벌 관광특구 육성사업' 전국 최초 대상지로 최종 선정됐다.

부산시는 문화체육관광부가 국정과제로 추진 중인 '글로벌 관광특구 육성사업'의 전국 최초 대상지로 해운대 관광특구가 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 1994년 전국 최초 관광특구로 지정됐던 해운대는 이번 선정을 통해 대한민국을 대표하는 글로벌 체류형 관광 거점으로 새롭게 도약한다.

이번 사업으로 해운대 글로벌 관광특구에는 2026년부터 2027년까지 2년간 국비 30억 원을 포함해 총 60억 원의 사업비가 투입된다. 대상 지역은 해운대·송정해수욕장부터 구남로, 영화의 전당, 누리마루APEC하우스, 벡스코, 달맞이고개를 아우르는 6.2제곱킬로미터 권역이다.

부산시는 사업비를 단순 시설 조성이 아닌 킬러콘텐츠 확충과 관광 서비스 개선에 전액 투입했다.

콘텐츠 측면에서는 'ALL-TIME HAEUNDAE'를 테마로 매년 글로벌 지적재산권(IP) 유치, 매월 달맞이길 특화 프로그램, 매주 위클리 나이트 페스타, 매일 데일리 관광 프로그램을 운영한다.

스마트 기술 도입도 병행해 인공지능 기반 24시간 무인관광안내소와 외국인 스마트 결제 시스템, 지능형 CCTV 밀집도 분석 시스템 등을 구축한다.

또한 메가이벤트 기간 숙박요금 급등 문제를 예방하고자 지역 호텔협의회와 상생협약을 맺어 공정숙박 환경을 조성하고, 투숙객 맞춤형 체크아웃 시스템을 도입해 체류 시간을 늘릴 방침이다.

전재수 부산시장은 30여 년간 축적해 온 관광 인프라와 브랜드 경쟁력을 바탕으로 거둔 의미 있는 성과라며, 부산만의 차별화된 매력을 강화해 외국인 관광객 600만 명 시대를 앞당기겠다고 밝혔다.

Busan Haeundae Tourist Zone has been selected as the nation's first target location for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Global Tourist Zone Fostering Project.

Busan Metropolitan City announced that the Haeundae Tourist Zone was selected as the nation's first site for the Global Tourist Zone Fostering Project, a national project led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. First designated as Korea's first tourist zone in 1994, Haeundae is now taking a new leap forward as a premier global stayover tourism hub representing South Korea.

Through this project, a total of 6 billion KRW, including 3 billion KRW in national funds, will be invested into the Haeundae Global Tourist Zone over two years from 2026 to 2027. The project area spans 6.2 square kilometers, encompassing Haeundae and Songjeong Beaches, Gunam-ro, Busan Cinema Center, Nurimaru APEC House, BEXCO, and Dalmaji Hill.

The city of Busan will allocate the entire budget toward expanding killer content and improving tourism services rather than physical infrastructure construction.

On the content front, under the theme "ALL-TIME HAEUNDAE," the city will host annual global intellectual property (IP) events, monthly Dalmaji-gil specialized programs, weekly night festivals, and daily tourism activities. Alongside these offerings, smart technology will be introduced, including AI-powered 24-hour unmanned tourist information kiosks, smart payment systems for foreign visitors, and intelligent CCTV systems for crowd density analysis.

Additionally, to address the issue of surging accommodation rates during major events, Busan plans to establish a fair accommodation environment by signing a mutual growth agreement with the local hotel association. The city will also introduce customized check-out systems for guests to encourage longer stays.

Busan Mayor Jun Jae-soo stated that this is a meaningful achievement built on more than 30 years of accumulated tourism infrastructure and brand competitiveness, adding that Busan will strengthen its unique charm to usher in an era of 6 million foreign tourists.
