[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 배우 김민하가 오는 10월 개최되는 제31회 부산국제영화제(BIFF) 개막식의 단독 진행자로 선정됐다.

부산국제영화제는 오는 10월 6일부터 15일까지 열흘간 부산 영화의전당 일대에서 열리는 제31회 영화제의 서막을 열 개막식 사회자(MC)로 김민하를 선정했다고 밝혔다. 

영화제 측은 김민하에 대해 "정갈함 속에 단단한 에너지를 갖춘 배우"라며 "진중하면서도 당찬 면모로 관객을 사로잡아온 만큼 이번 개막식에서 보여줄 안정감 있는 진행이 축제의 위상을 더욱 빛내줄 것으로 기대한다"고 선정 이유를 설명했다.

지난해 경쟁부문을 도입해 국제적 위상을 공고히 한 부산국제영화제는 이번 도약의 여정을 함께할 인물로 최근 가장 또렷한 성장세를 보여준 김민하를 선택했다. 영화제 관계자는 "작품마다 깊이 있는 해석으로 인물의 내면을 충실히 대변해 온 배우 김민하의 독보적인 행보에 주목했다"고 덧붙였다.

2016년 데뷔한 김민하는 애플TV 글로벌 시리즈 '파친코'에서 젊은 선자 역을 맡아 시대의 격랑 속에서도 강인한 삶을 살아가는 인물을 밀도 있게 그려내며 세계적인 주목을 받았다. 이를 통해 2022 아시안아메리칸어워즈 TV부문 신인상을 거머쥐며 해외 무대에서 가능성을 입증했다.

이후 드라마 '조명가게', '내가 죽기 일주일 전', '태풍상사', 영화 '하나 코리아' 등 다양한 장르를 오가며 연기 스펙트럼을 넓혀왔다. 또한 2025 서울드라마어워즈 국제경쟁부문 여자연기자상, 2025 청룡시리즈어워즈 신인여우상, 2026 대한민국 퍼스트브랜드 대상 여자배우상(라이징스타) 등을 연속 수상하며 차세대 한국 대표 배우로서의 존재감을 확고히 했다.

Actor Kim Min-ha will take the stage as the sole host for the opening ceremony of the 31st Busan International Film Festival this October.

The Busan International Film Festival announced that Kim has been selected to lead the opening event of the 31st edition, which will run for ten days from October 6 to October 15 at the Busan Cinema Center. Highlighting her selection, festival officials described Kim as an actor possessing solid energy wrapped in refined elegance, adding that her composed yet confident presence is expected to further elevate the prestige of the event.

Following the successful introduction of its competition section last year, the festival chose Kim as a key figure to accompany its next leap forward, recognizing her notable growth and remarkable ability to deliver deep character interpretations.

Since making her debut in 2016, Kim gained widespread international acclaim for her role as the young Sunja in the Apple TV+ series "Pachinko." Her nuanced performance earned her the Best New Actor award in the TV category at the 2022 Asian American Awards, proving her capabilities on the global stage.

She has since expanded her acting spectrum across multiple genres with performances in series such as "Light Shop," "A Week Before I Die," and "Typhoon Company," as well as the film "Hana Korea." 

Her work was subsequently recognized with major accolades, including Best Actress in the International Competition at the 2025 Seoul International Drama Awards, Best New Actress at the 2025 Blue Dragon Series Awards, and Female Actor (Rising Star) at the 2026 Korea First Brand Awards, cementing her position as an icon among Korea's next-generation talent.

The 31st Busan International Film Festival, anchored by Kim's solo hosting, will take place over ten days from October 6 to October 15 in the Busan Cinema Center area.
