[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부코페’의 꽃 ‘코미디 스트리트’가 성황리 진행 중이다. 거리마다 저글링부터 서커스-마술까지, 트로트+코미디 만난 ‘박휘순쇼’ , 뉴진스님→트롯둥이 출격 등 다채로운 공연에 부산은 웃음바다로 넘치고 있다.

제14회 부산국제코미디페스티벌(BICF)이 다채로운 프로그램을 바탕으로 부산 전역에서 진행되고 있다.

지난 21일 개막한 부산국제코미디페스티벌은 개막공연을 시작으로 '전유성 없는 전유성 쇼', '갈갈이 개그콘서트: 레전드의 귀환', 'B급 청문회' 등 여러 장르의 공연을 선보였다.

거리 공연인 '코미디 스트리트'는 오는 26일까지 해운대 구남로에서 열린다. 국내외 아티스트들이 저글링, 서커스, 마술, 음악 등을 선보이며 시민과 관광객의 관심을 끌고 있다.

해외 팀인 라 삼부사(La Sambusa), 카이 쿠우타모(Kai Kuutamo), 훕 붐 붐(Hoop Boom Boom)을 비롯해 국내 팀의 '폭소 매직쇼', '더 해프닝쇼', '매직조', '231쇼', '박휘순 쇼' 등이 무대에 올랐다.

트로트 코미디쇼를 선보인 개그맨 박휘순은 관객과 소통하는 공연을 준비했다며 바다를 배경으로 부담 없이 즐기기를 바란다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

26일에는 '파이어앨범'의 파이어쇼와 퍼포머 '양철인간'의 공연이 진행된다. 또한 동서대학교와 연계해 배출된 예비 코미디언들의 첫 무대도 펼쳐진다. 페스티벌 측은 2024년부터 동서대학교에 코미디 연기 전공과목을 개설하고 이론과 실습 교육을 진행해왔으며, 해당 과정을 수료한 학생들이 이번 무대에서 한 학기 동안 준비한 연기를 선보인다.

한편 '코미디 오픈 콘서트'는 25일 북항크루즈터미널, 27일 유라리광장, 28일 다대포 해변광장에서 순차적으로 개최된다. 북항크루즈터미널에서는 '폭소 매직쇼'와 뉴진스님(윤성호)의 퍼포먼스가 진행된다. 유라리광장에서는 '매직조', '트롯둥이', '양철인간', '파이어앨범'이, 다대포 해변광장에서는 마술과 드로잉을 결합한 '크레용용' 등의 무대가 마련된다.

2주 차에 접어든 이번 페스티벌은 '꽁트어셈블@부코페', '서울 코미디 올스타스', '만담어셈블@부코페', '옹알스', '재팬 넌버벌 라이브 G팀' 등 다양한 공연을 이어간다. 오는 30일까지 열리는 부코페는 폐막공연 '나는 개가수다'를 끝으로 마무리 한다.

The highlight of BICF, "Comedy Street," is in full swing. Streets are bursting with laughter as Busan hosts a dynamic lineup of performances, ranging from juggling and circus arts to magic shows. Key highlights include the "Park Hwi-soon Show"—a unique blend of trot music and comedy—and lively acts featuring stars from NewJeansNim to the Trot Twins.

Starting with its grand opening performance on August 21, BICF has captivated audiences with various shows, including "Jeon Yu-seong Show without Jeon Yu-seong," "Galgali Gag Concert: Return of the Legends," and "B-Class Hearing."

"Comedy Street," the highlight of the festival, runs through August 26 at Haeundae Gunam-ro. Domestic and international artists are drawing huge crowds of locals and tourists alike with dynamic acts spanning juggling, circus arts, magic, and music.

International acts like juggling duo La Sambusa, solo juggler Kai Kuutamo, and hoop performer Hoop Boom Boom shared the stage with domestic performers, including magician Kim Min-hyung's "Laughter Magic Show," Ham Seo-yul's circus drama "The Happening Show," the comedy-magic show "Magic Cho," Lee Seok-won's paper art "231 Show," and Park Hwi-soon's trot-comedy show "Park Hwi-soon Show."

Comedian Park Hwi-soon, who performed "Park Hwi-soon Show," shared, "My performance is an exciting trot show designed to interact directly with the audience. Since it blends comedy with trot music, I hope Busan citizens and visitors can relax and enjoy it against the backdrop of the sea."

On August 26, the street performance features "Fire Album," one of Korea's premier fire shows, alongside "Tin Man," a statue performer who transforms into a robotic dancer the moment music starts. In addition, aspiring comedians from Dongseo University will make their debut on the same day. BICF partnered with Dongseo University in 2024 to establish a Comedy Acting major—taught by BICF Chief Director Cho Yoon-ho—combining theory and practice. Students completing the course will showcase the skills they honed over the semester before a live audience.

Laughter will also spread to various key locations across the city through the "Comedy Open Concert," starting at North Port Cruise Terminal on August 25, moving to Yurari Square on August 27, and wrapping up at Dadaepo Beach Park on August 28. North Port Cruise Terminal features "Laughter Magic Show" and NewJeansNim (Youn Sung-ho), who delivers a unique mix of EDM and Buddhist philosophy. Yurari Square will host "Magic Cho," twin comedy duo Lee Sang-ho and Lee Sang-min's "Trot Twins," "Tin Man," and "Fire Album," while Dadaepo Beach Park showcases "Crayon-Yong," a performance blending magic and live drawing.

Entering its second week, BICF features a rich lineup including "Sketch Assemble@BICF," "Seoul Comedy All-Stars," "Stand-up Assemble@BICF," "Ongals," and "Japan Nonverbal Live G Team." The festival runs through August 30, will be concluded with the closing show "I Am a Gag-Singer."
