[Here is the English version of the article] K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN 2026 to Open Sept. 9, Showcasing Busan’s AI Transformation Ecosystem =Three-Day Event Co-Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Busan City and Busan Metropolitan Office of Education
K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN 2026, a major event showcasing the latest developments in artificial intelligence and information and communications technology, will take place Sept. 9-11 at BEXCO in Busan.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, this year’s event will be held under the theme “AX Wave in BUSAN, AX Innovation Hub Busan.” The three-day event will bring together companies, industry experts, educators, students and citizens to showcase an AI transformation ecosystem focused on three key priorities: business growth, talent development and retention, and greater public access to AI technology.
A citizen-focused AI Busan Festival will also be held alongside the main exhibition, connecting the exhibition halls with the outdoor plaza at BEXCO. Visitors will have opportunities to experience AI technologies firsthand through a range of interactive programs designed to make AI more accessible and engaging in everyday life.
Global and Local Companies to Showcase Latest Technologies Major ICT companies from Korea and abroad will participate in the event, ranging from global technology companies to promising startups and established regional businesses.
Korean participants include cloud technology companies Douzone Bizon, MegazoneCloud and Cloukers, robotics company JM Robotics, and Total Soft Bank, an IT company specializing in marine and logistics solutions. Companies from Busan as well as other parts of Korea will showcase their latest technologies and business solutions.
Global companies will also participate, including Germany-based AI translation company DeepL and FPT Korea, the Korean operation of Vietnam-based global IT company FPT.
Their participation will give visitors and industry professionals an opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies while gaining insight into global trends shaping the AI and ICT industries.
Expert Conferences and Industry Seminars A series of professional conferences and seminars featuring experts from Korea and abroad will be held throughout the three-day event.
Experts from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kakao Enterprise and the National AI Strategy Committee, among others, will take part in sessions examining key developments in cloud computing, AI and related technologies.
The program will also include the Global Agentic Forum and the Busan Data Center Tech Summit, covering major industry issues, emerging technologies and strategies for future growth.
The sessions are designed to provide businesses and industry professionals with opportunities to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technologies and discuss the future direction of the rapidly evolving ICT sector.
Expanded Business Matching for Local Companies Business consultation and matchmaking programs will be expanded to help local companies find new customers in Korea and abroad and enter international markets.
Last year’s event generated 93.7 billion won in buyer consultations and 37.9 billion won in prospective contracts. Building on those results, this year’s program will expand customized business matching between local companies and domestic and international buyers.
More than 40 international buyers from 15 countries, including Japan and Singapore, will participate, along with major Korean corporations and public-sector organizations. One-on-one business meetings will help local companies pursue export opportunities and gain access to public-sector markets.
The event will also take place alongside the **World Smart City Expo (WSCE)**. A pre-event matching system and dedicated consultation area will be operated to help companies turn business discussions into concrete contracts and investment opportunities.
Connecting Young Talent With AI and ICT Industries The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will work with participating organizations to provide students and citizens with opportunities to experience AI and the ICT industry while strengthening connections between local talent and businesses.
The program is designed to go beyond simply showcasing technology. Its broader goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem in which talent develops in Busan, businesses grow by drawing on that talent, and citizens benefit from technological innovation.
An AI Education Pavilion will be operated with participation from 51 elementary, middle and high schools, as well as special-education schools across Busan.
The program will give students opportunities to explore AI and ICT outside the classroom and gain firsthand experience with emerging technologies. It will also lay the groundwork for connecting local ICT companies with potential future employees.
AI Busan Festival to Offer Hands-On Experiences The AI Busan Festival will provide citizens with hands-on opportunities to experience artificial intelligence in an accessible and engaging environment.
A variety of interactive programs will demonstrate how AI is being used in everyday life, allowing visitors to experience new technologies directly rather than simply viewing them in an exhibition setting.
The event is expected to serve as a platform where businesses can discover new markets, young people can explore future career opportunities, and citizens can become more familiar with rapidly advancing AI technologies.
Building Busan Into a Leading AI City The co-hosting organizations plan to use the event as an opportunity to strengthen connections among AI and ICT technologies, businesses and talent while supporting the growth of local companies and the development of a skilled workforce.
Busan City, in particular, plans to expand support for local companies, strengthen opportunities for local talent to build careers and settle in the city, and create more opportunities for citizens to benefit from AI innovation.
Through these efforts, Busan aims to establish itself as a leading AI city where people can learn about world-class technologies, find opportunities with promising companies and build their careers and lives in the region.
**K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN 2026** will be held Sept. 9-11 at BEXCO’s Exhibition Hall 1, Hall 3, featuring technology exhibitions, professional conferences and seminars, business consultations, educational programs and hands-on experiences for the public. <저작권자 ⓒ 부산브레이크뉴스 무단전재 및 재배포 금지>
