[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 영도구는 지난 10일 국립해양박물관과 감지해변 일원에서 일본 나가사키현 고등학생들과 함께하는 ‘2026 한‧일 고교생 교류 해양쓰레기 워크숍 IN 부산’을 개최했다고 12일 밝혔다.  

이번 행사는 일본 나가사키현과 (사)쓰시마 CAPPA가 주최·주관하고 영도구와 일본 쓰시마시가 협력해 마련됐다. 영도구 관내 고등학생을 비롯해 나가사키현 학생 등 70여 명이 참여해 해양환경 문제에 대한 인식을 나누고 국제 협력의 중요성을 되새겼다.  

워크숍은 감지해변에서의 비치코밍(해변 정화 활동)으로 시작해 국립해양박물관에서 토론과 해양쓰레기 탁본 체험이 이어졌다. 참가자들은 오후 일정으로 F1963을 방문해 자원순환 관련 전시를 관람하며 친환경 문화 확산의 필요성을 공유했다.  

학생들은 직접 수거한 해양쓰레기를 활용해 의견을 나누고 발표하면서 해양오염의 심각성을 실감했다. 아울러 양국 청소년이 국경을 넘어 환경 보호의 가치를 함께 모색하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.  

영도구 관계자는 “양국의 미래 세대가 함께 환경 문제를 고민하는 과정 자체가 의미 있었다”며 “청소년 간 교류를 통해 국제적 연대와 환경 의식이 지속적으로 확산되길 기대한다”고 전했다.

Yeongdo District of Busan announced on January 12 that the “2026 Korea–Japan High School Student Exchange Marine Litter Workshop in Busan” was held on January 10 at the National Maritime Museum and nearby Gamji Beach.  

The event was hosted and organized by Nagasaki Prefecture and the Tsushima-based nonprofit CAPPA, in cooperation with Yeongdo District and Tsushima City. About 70 students and officials, including high school students from Yeongdo and Nagasaki Prefecture, took part to share awareness of marine environmental issues and reflect on the importance of international cooperation.  

The workshop began with a beachcombing activity at Gamji Beach, followed by group discussions and a marine litter printing experience session at the National Maritime Museum. In the afternoon, participants visited F1963 to view exhibitions related to resource circulation and environmental sustainability.  

Students used collected marine debris for discussions and presentations, developing a shared understanding of marine pollution and the value of environmental protection beyond national borders.  

A Yeongdo District official said, “It was deeply meaningful for the young generation of both countries to think together about environmental challenges,” adding, “We hope this kind of international exchange and youth collaboration will continue to expand in the years ahead.”
