[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 오는 6월 열리는 방탄소년단(BTS) 월드투어 부산공연을 앞두고 숙박요금 폭리 및 미신고 영업 등 불법행위 근절에 나선다.  

시는 2월 23일부터 6월 15일까지 공연장과 주요 관광지 주변 숙박업소를 대상으로 특별 기획수사를 실시한다고 23일 밝혔다. 이번 조치는 지난달 열린 ‘민관 합동 가격안정 대책회의’에서 마련된 후속 대책의 일환으로, 대형 이벤트 기간 숙박요금 급등을 방지하기 위한 실질적인 대응책이다.  

단속 대상은 공중위생관리법을 위반한 ▲미신고 숙박영업 ▲요금표 미게시 ▲숙박요금 미준수 등이다. 오피스텔이나 주택을 이용한 불법 공유숙박, 게시된 요금과 다른 금액을 요구하는 행위도 집중 점검한다.  

부산시 특별사법경찰과는 위반 업소에 대해 형사 입건과 행정처분 등 강력한 조치를 예고했다. 위반 정도에 따라 최대 2년 이하 징역 또는 2천만 원 이하 벌금이 부과될 수 있다.  

시 관계자는 “선량한 숙박업주를 보호하고 관광객에게 합리적인 가격과 품질 높은 서비스를 제공하겠다”고 밝혔다. 한편 시는 단속 기간 중 숙박업 불법 행위에 대한 시민 제보를 접수한다(☎051-888-3101~3108).  

박형준 부산시장은 “BTS 공연은 전 세계의 이목이 부산으로 쏠리는 소중한 기회”라며 “불법 숙박행위를 철저히 단속해 부산의 관광 이미지를 지키고, 다시 찾고 싶은 글로벌 도시로 거듭나겠다”고 말했다.  

[Here is the English translation of the report] Busan Mayor Orders Crackdown on Illegal Lodging Ahead of BTS Concert

The city of Busan has launched a special investigation to crack down on illegal lodging practices such as unregistered rentals and price gouging ahead of the upcoming BTS World Tour concerts in June.  

Starting February 23 and running through June 15, city authorities will conduct inspections of accommodations near concert venues and major tourist attractions. The initiative follows the “Public-Private Joint Price Stabilization Meeting” held in January, where the city pledged to prevent excessive price hikes during major events.  

Key targets of the crackdown include violations of public sanitation laws such as operating unregistered lodging facilities, failing to display price lists, and charging rates inconsistent with posted prices. Unlicensed short-term rentals through shared accommodation platforms and other unfair practices will also be under scrutiny.  

Busan’s Special Judicial Police Unit said violators will face strict measures, including criminal charges and administrative penalties. Depending on the offense, violators may face up to two years in prison or fines of up to 20 million won.  

A city official said the initiative aims to protect legitimate business owners and ensure that visitors receive fair pricing and quality service. Citizens can report illegal lodging activities during the inspection period by calling 051-888-3101~3108.  

Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, “The BTS concert is a valuable opportunity that will draw global attention to Busan. We will thoroughly enforce lodging regulations and take proactive steps to protect the city’s tourism reputation so that visitors leave with a positive impression and want to return.”
