[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 장애인의 날을 맞아 오는 18일 오전 9시 화명생태공원 일대에서 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 소통하는 제13회 담쟁이 걷기대회를 개최한다.

이번 행사는 모두를 위한 한 걸음이라는 슬로건 아래 장애에 대한 사회적 편견을 해소하고 통합 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련되었다. 담쟁이라는 명칭은 덩굴손이 함께 벽을 넘어가는 모습처럼 장애인과 비장애인이 차별과 배제의 벽을 함께 극복하자는 의미를 담고 있다.

이날 행사는 ▲장애인 오케스트라 공연 및 마술공연을 시작으로 ▲기념식 ▲개막 퍼포먼스 ▲걷기대회 순으로 진행된다. 걷기 코스는 화명생태공원 연꽃단지 일대 1.6km 구간으로 구성되었으며, 완주에는 약 40분이 소요되어 휠체어 이용자 등 교통약자도 안전하게 참여할 수 있다.

시민들을 위한 다채로운 부대 프로그램도 마련된다. 현장에서는 ▲체험 부스 운영 ▲사회관계망(SNS) 해시태그 이벤트 ▲포토존 운영 ▲보완대체의사소통 보조기구(AAC) 체험 ▲장애 이해 퀴즈 ▲경품 추첨 및 기념품 제공 등이 진행되어 참가자들에게 풍성한 즐길 거리를 제공할 예정이다.

부산시민이라면 누구나 참여 가능하며, 사전 신청을 하지 못한 경우에도 행사 당일 오전 9시부터 11시까지 현장에서 접수하여 동참할 수 있다. 행사와 관련한 상세한 정보는 부산뇌병변복지관을 통해 안내받을 수 있다.

박형준 부산시장은 이번 대회가 장애에 대한 이해를 넓히고 모두를 위한 한 걸음의 가치를 되새기는 계기가 되길 바란다며, 앞으로도 소외 없는 따뜻하고 안녕한 부산을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다고 밝혔다.

Busan City will hold the 13th Ivy Walking Festival tomorrow (18th) at 9:00 AM at Hwamyeong Eco Park to mark Parents' Day for the Disabled and foster communication between disabled and non-disabled citizens.

The event, held under the slogan "Step for All," aims to dispel social prejudice and create an inclusive environment. The name "Ivy" symbolizes how people can overcome the walls of discrimination and exclusion together, much like ivy vines climbing over a wall.

The event will proceed in the following order:

▲ Performances by a disabled orchestra and magic shows

▲ Official ceremony

▲ Opening performance

▲ Walking festival

The walking course spans 1.6 kilometers around the Lotus Pond in Hwamyeong Eco Park. It takes approximately 40 minutes to complete and is designed to be accessible for those with mobility challenges, including wheelchair users.

Any Busan resident can participate. Those who did not register in advance can sign up on-site between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the day of the event. Further details can be obtained through the Busan Welfare Center for People with Cerebral Palsy.

Mayor Park Heong-joon expressed his hope that the festival would serve as an opportunity for all Busan citizens to broaden their understanding of disabilities and reflect on the meaning of a step for all, adding that the city will continue to strive for a warm and safe Busan where no one is left behind.
