[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시립극단이 4월 3일부터 25일까지 부산문화회관 사랑채극장에서 가족뮤지컬 ‘신데렐라: 너의 뜻대로’를 선보인다.

이번 작품은 고전 동화 신데렐라를 현대적으로 재해석한 공연으로, 극단이 추진 중인 3년 연작 프로젝트의 일환이다. 기존 이야기에서 강조되던 결혼과 신분 상승 중심의 서사를 벗어나, 주인공이 스스로 삶을 개척하는 주체적인 인물로 그려진다.

작품은 밝고 경쾌한 음악과 코믹한 연출을 통해 어린이부터 어른까지 함께 즐길 수 있는 가족뮤지컬로 구성됐다. 신데렐라는 타인의 도움에 의존하지 않고 자신의 꿈을 찾고 도전하며 성장하는 과정을 보여준다.

이 공연은 이전 무대에서 작품성과 대중성을 인정받으며 관객들의 호응을 얻었고, 2025년 대한민국 국공립극단 페스티벌 in 경주 초청작으로 선정돼 높은 관객 점유율을 기록했다.

평일 공연은 단체 대상 예술교육 형태로 진행되며, 일반 관람은 매주 토요일 오전 11시와 오후 2시에 가능하다. 부산시립극단은 이번 작품을 통해 연작 프로젝트의 흐름을 이어가며 완성도를 한층 끌어올릴 계획이다.

Busan Municipal Theater presents family musical “Cinderella: As You Wish” in April

The Busan Municipal Theater will stage the family musical “Cinderella: As You Wish” from April 3 to 25 at the Sarangchae Theater of the Busan Cultural Center.

The production is a modern reinterpretation of the classic fairy tale Cinderella and part of the company’s three-year project series. Moving away from the traditional narrative centered on marriage and social mobility, the story portrays Cinderella as an independent character who shapes her own life.

Featuring lively music and comedic elements, the musical is designed for audiences of all ages. In this version, Cinderella is not rescued by others but grows by discovering her dreams, taking initiative and pursuing her goals.

The production has previously received both critical and popular acclaim, gaining strong audience support. It was also invited to the 2025 Korea Public Theater Festival in Gyeongju, where it recorded high attendance.

Weekday performances will be held as educational shows for group audiences, while public performances are scheduled every Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Busan Municipal Theater aims to continue its project series while presenting a more refined production.
