[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 더불어민주당 부산광역시당 선거관리위원회가 제9회 전국동시지방선거 기초단체장 1차 경선 지역 후보 등록을 마치고 본격적인 선거 일정에 나섰다.

부산시당은 27일 오전 부산시의회 브리핑룸에서 ‘경선 후보자 발표 및 공명선거 서약식’을 개최했다. 이번 1차 경선 지역은 '중구, 서구, 금정구, 수영구' 등 총 4곳으로, 현직 구의원과 전직 구청장 후보 등 총 9명의 후보가 등록을 완료해 치열한 본선행 티켓 경쟁을 예고했다.

시당 선관위는 이번 경선에서 ‘당원 주권 강화’와 ‘후보 검증’을 최우선 과제로 내걸었다. 이를 위해 단순 투표를 넘어 합동연설회와 지역별 토론회를 거치는 등 유권자의 알 권리 충족을 위한 검증 과정을 대폭 강화했다.

주요 일정 및 경선 방식

경선 일정은 오는 30일 오후 6시 30분 시당 대회의실에서 열리는 합동연설회로 포문을 연다. 이어 ▲31일 중구·서구 ▲4월 1일 금정구·수영구 순으로 지역별 합동토론회가 진행된다. 모든 일정은 시당 공식 유튜브 채널 ‘부산민주당TV’를 통해 실시간 중계될 예정이다.

최종 후보 선출을 위한 투표는 4월 3일부터 4일까지 이틀간 안심번호 선거인단과 권리당원 선거인단을 대상으로 한 ARS 방식으로 실시된다. 경선 결과는 4일 오후 8시 시당 대회의실에서 현장 발표된다.

김도경 시당 선관위원장은 “이번 경선은 당원들의 열망을 하나로 모아 본선 승리의 기틀을 닦는 소중한 과정”이라며 “모든 후보에게 공정한 기회를 보장하고, 한 치의 의혹 없는 투명한 선거 관리에 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.

[English News Version] DPK Busan Chapter Announces Primary Candidates for Local Government Heads, Holds Fair Election Pledge Ceremony

- Final Results to be Announced April 4th Following Debate and ARS Voting

The Busan Metropolitan City Chapter of the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) Election Management Committee (Chair: Kim Do-kyung) has officially entered its primary phase for local government heads in preparation for the 9th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections.

On March 27th, the Busan Chapter held a "Primary Candidate Announcement and Fair Election Pledge Ceremony" at the Busan City Council briefing room. The first round of primaries will cover four districts: Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Geumjeong-gu, and Suyeong-gu, with a total of nine candidates successfully registered.

To strengthen "party member sovereignty" and ensure the voters' right to know, the committee has significantly bolstered the candidate verification process by mandating joint speech sessions and regional debates.

Key Schedule and Election Method

The primary schedule will kick off with a joint speech session at the Busan Chapter’s main conference room on March 30th at 6:30 PM. This will be followed by regional debates held on:

March 31: Jung-gu (7:00 PM) and Seo-gu (8:30 PM)

April 1: Geumjeong-gu (7:00 PM) and Suyeong-gu (8:30 PM)

All sessions will be broadcast live on the chapter's official YouTube channel, "Busan Minjoo TV."

The final selection will be determined through a two-day ARS (Automated Response System) vote from April 3rd to 4th, targeting a pool of both "safe-number" (virtually generated mobile numbers) electors and "dues-paying" party members. The results are scheduled to be announced at the Busan Chapter headquarters on April 4th at 8:00 PM.

"This primary is a vital process to consolidate the aspirations of our party members and build a foundation for victory in the general election," stated Kim Do-kyung, Chair of the Election Management Committee. "We are committed to ensuring fair opportunities for all candidates and maintaining transparent election management without a shadow of doubt."
