[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시장 후보 경선을 앞둔 박형준 부산시장이 28일 부산진구 동아빌딩에 경선캠프를 열고 본격적인 선거전에 돌입했다.

‘보수 대통합’과 ‘부산 승리’를 내건 박 시장은 캠프 개소식에서 “부산의 미래 도약을 위한 새로운 출발점”이라고 선언했다.  

박형준 캠프는 이날 3040세대 법조인과 시의원, 교수들을 대거 영입하며 2차 인선을 발표했다. 법률지원단에는 이원하 법무법인 파트원 부산대표변호사와 홍재욱 국선전담변호사가 합류했고, 정책본부장에는 김형철 부산시의원이, 노동본부장에는 한국노총 출신 박진수 시의원이 임명됐다. 정채숙 시의원은 여성정책본부장을 맡아 양성평등·여성폭력 대응 정책을 총괄한다.  

학계 인사들도 힘을 보탰다. 김태희 영산대 교수와 이창근 부산대 교수가 정책교수단 공동단장을 맡고, 조용복 동아대 교수가 간사로 참여한다. 정무섭·정성문 동아대 교수 등 총 100여 명의 교수진이 캠프 정책라인에 동참했다.  

캠프 관계자는 “이번 인선은 30~40대 전문가와 현직 시의원, 학계를 아우르는 ‘용광로형 통합’의 출발점”이라며 “보수의 가치를 분명히 세우고 강성·전통·중도 보수를 포괄하는 대통합의 구심점이 될 것”이라고 말했다.  

이날 현장은 박 시장의 삭발 이후 ‘부산글로벌허브도시특별법’이 국회 행정안전위원회를 통과했다는 소식이 전해지며 고무된 분위기였다.

개소식에는 정의화 전 국회의장을 비롯해 곽규택, 김도읍, 김대식, 김희정, 백종헌, 박수영, 이성권, 정성국, 조승환 국회의원과 강성태, 김기재, 김성수, 장준용, 이갑준, 주석수 구청장 이대석 부의장과 이복조 원내대표를 비롯한 시의원, 구의원, 원로 보수 인사, 청년과 자영업계, 노동계, 스타트업계 등 다양한 계층의 인사와 지지자들이 대거 참석했다.

박형준 시장은 “지난 5년은 글로벌 허브도시, 다시 태어나도 살고 싶은 도시 부산을 향해 고속도로를 달려온 시간”이라며 “지금 부산은 올바른 방향과 정확한 내비게이션을 갖추고 고속도로 중간 지점까지 와 있다”고 말했다.

이어 “이 시점에서 내비게이션을 바꾸고 운전자를 끌어내리면 부산의 목적지는 흔들릴 수밖에 없다”며 “재선으로 맡겨주신 5년을 바탕으로 시작된 가덕도신공항, BuTX, 제2센텀 등 굵직한 개발 사업들을 멈춤 없이 추진해 2030년 이전까지 시민 여러분이 월클(월드클래스) 도시 부산을 분명히 체감하도록 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

그는 또 “부산의 승리가 곧 대한민국을 바로 세우는 길”이라며 “이번 지방선거는 정부의 독주를 견제하고 지방자치의 균형을 지켜내는 마지막 기회”라고 강조했다.

-Young Professionals in Their 30s and 40s Join En Masse: “The Last Chance to Check Government Overreach and Protect Local Autonomy”

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon launched his official primary campaign on the 28th, opening his election headquarters at the Dong-A Building in Busanjin District. Declaring it “a new starting point for Busan’s leap into the future,” Park kicked off his race under the slogans of “Conservative Unity” and “Victory for Busan.”  

His campaign announced a second round of appointments, bringing in numerous professionals in their 30s and 40s, including lawyers, city council members, and academics. Attorney Lee Won-ha of Law Firm Part One and public defender Hong Jae-wook joined the legal support team, while Busan City Council member Kim Hyung-chul was named head of policy. City councilors Park Jin-soo and Jung Chae-suk were tapped to lead the labor and women’s policy divisions, respectively, with Jung focusing on gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence.  

Academic figures also joined forces with the campaign. Professors Kim Tae-hee of Youngsan University and Lee Chang-geun of Pusan National University were appointed co-chairs of the policy advisory group, with Professor Cho Yong-bok of Dong-A University serving as secretary. Around 100 professors, including Dong-A University’s Chung Moo-sub and Jung Sung-moon, are set to participate in shaping the campaign’s policy agenda.  

“This lineup marks the beginning of an ‘integrated melting pot’ that unites professionals in their 30s and 40s, current city council members, and the academic community,” a campaign official said. “It’s a unifying center for the conservative camp — embracing traditional, moderate, and reformist conservatives alike.”  

The atmosphere at the inaugural event was buoyant after news broke that the *Special Act on the Busan Global Hub City* had passed the National Assembly’s Public Administration and Security Committee, shortly following Park’s symbolic head-shaving protest.  

A number of political figures attended the ceremony, including former National Assembly Speaker Chung Ui-hwa, along with lawmakers Kwak Kyu-taek, Kim Do-eup, Kim Dae-sik, Kim Hee-jung, Baek Jong-heon, Park Soo-young, Lee Sung-kwon, Jung Sung-guk, and Cho Seung-hwan. Several district mayors, council chairs, senior conservative leaders, young professionals, small business owners, labor representatives, and startup entrepreneurs were also present.  

“Busan has already reached the halfway point on the highway to becoming a global hub city,” Park said. “If we change our navigation now, we’ll lose direction. With the power of a second term, I will see through major projects like the Gadeokdo New Airport, BuTX, and the Second Centum complex so that citizens can truly feel Busan’s transformation into a world-class city by 2030.”  

Reflecting on his past term, he added, “The past five years have been a journey to make Busan a global, livable city. We’re now midway along the right highway with a clear route ahead. Changing course or drivers now would only jeopardize our destination.”  

Park stressed that “a victory in Busan is the key to setting the country back on the right path,” calling the upcoming local election “the last chance to keep the central government’s monopoly in check and protect the balance of local autonomy.”
