[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산의 연말 명물 ‘산타버스’가 안전성과 즐거움을 더해 다시 도심을 달린다. 

부산시는 22일부터 내년 1월 중순까지 10개 노선에서 ‘2025~2026년 연말연시 부산 산타버스 이벤트’를 운영한다고 밝혔다.  

시는 시민들에게 특별한 연말 분위기를 선사하기 위한 ‘부산 산타버스’ 운행을 재개한다고 밝혔다. 올해 산타버스는 지난해 잠시 중단했던 운행을 재정비해, 안전성을 강화한 ‘래핑(wrapping)’ 방식으로 새 단장을 마쳤다.  

이번 산타버스는 총 10개 노선 10대가 참여한다. 운행 노선은 ▲삼진15번(금곡~충무동) ▲시민24번(용호동~서면) ▲용화41번(민락동~충무동) ▲삼성43번(회동~민주공원) ▲삼신49번(금정차고지~광안리) ▲금진128-1번(강서차고지~신라대) ▲해동141번(송정~당감동) ▲태진169번(당감동~만덕) ▲대진187번(반송~장안) ▲남부508번(영도~민주공원)이다.  

산타버스는 시민과 운수종사자들이 자발적으로 참여해 꾸준히 이어온 부산의 대표 연말 이벤트로, 전국에서도 주목받는 명물 콘텐츠로 자리 잡았다. 올해는 버스 운행사와 승무원, 전문가들이 함께 참여해 디자인을 개선했으며, 차량 내·외부를 래핑으로 꾸며 시각적 재미와 안전성을 모두 강화했다. 

황현철 부산시 교통혁신국장은 “산타버스는 부산 시민의 따뜻한 참여 속에 만들어진 특별한 교통문화”라며 “시는 앞으로도 시민이 즐겁고 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 대중교통 환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Busan’s beloved year-end tradition, the “Santa Bus,” is back on the road to spread festive cheer. The city announced that the “2025–2026 Busan Santa Bus Event” will operate from December 22 until mid-January across ten routes citywide.  

The City of Busan announced on December 22 that it has resumed operation of its seasonal “Santa Buses,” designed to bring holiday joy to citizens and visitors. 

After a short break last year to reinforce safety measures, this year’s event features ten buses running on ten major city routes, each decorated with bright wrapping designs for a safer and more enjoyable ride.  

Participating routes include: Samjin No.15 (Geumgok–Chungmu-dong), Simin No.24 (Yongho-dong–Seomyeon), Yonghwa No.41 (Millak-dong–Chungmu-dong), Samsung No.43 (Hoedong–Democracy Park), Samshin No.49 (Geumjeong Garage–Gwangalli), Geumjin No.128-1 (Gangseo Garage–Silla Univ.), Haedong No.141 (Songjeong–Dangam-dong), Taejin No.169 (Dangam-dong–Mandeok), Daejin No.187 (Bansong–Jangan), and Nambu No.508 (Yeongdo–Democracy Park).  The Santa Bus campaign has become one of Busan’s signature holiday events, organized voluntarily by city bus drivers and companies to spread joy during the Christmas and New Year season. 

This year’s design was jointly developed by drivers, bus operators, and safety experts, allowing the city to enhance both the aesthetic appeal and safety of the vehicles through colorful exterior wrapping.  

Hwang Hyun-cheol, Director of Busan’s Transportation Innovation Bureau, said, “We are grateful for the continuous support citizens have shown for the Santa Bus, a seasonal tradition that represents Busan’s festive spirit. The city will keep working to provide a joyful, convenient, and safe public transportation environment for everyone.”
