[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 교내 스포츠 수업 중 동급생을 집단으로 폭행해 다치게 한 중학생들이 사건 발생 한 달 만에 검찰에 넘겨졌다. 

 

해운대경찰서는 폭력행위 등 처벌에 관한 법률 위반(공동상해) 혐의로 중학교 3학년 A군 등 3명을 검찰에 송치했다고 밝혔다.

 

수업 중 발생한 폭행과 지도 공백

사건은 지난해 12월 26일, 학교 강당에서 진행된 스포츠 수업 시간에 발생했다. 경찰 조사 결과 A군 등은 동급생을 공동으로 폭행해 상해를 입힌 혐의를 받고 있다. 조사 과정에서 당시 강당 내에 학생들을 지도해야 할 교사가 자리를 비우는 정황도 파악됐다.

 

신고를 접수한 경찰은 목격자 진술과 관련 증거를 바탕으로 약 한 달간 수사를 진행해 왔다. 경찰은 이들이 위력을 동원해 동급생에게 신체적 가해를 입힌 혐의가 충분히 입증됐다고 판단했다. 지난 1월 22일 가해 학생 전원을 검찰로 송치하며 수사를 마무리했다.

 

이번 사건이 발생한 중학교는 지난 2024년, 이 학교 학생 4명이 딥페이크 기술을 악용해 음란물을 합성하고 유포한 혐의로 경찰 수사를 받은 바 있어 반복되는 학교 폭력으로 논란이 될 전망이다.

Three middle school students who assaulted a classmate during a school sports class have been referred to prosecutors, about a month after the incident. 

 

Haeundae Police announced that they had sent three ninth-grade students, including one identified only by the initial A, to the prosecution on charges of joint injury under the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts.  

 

Assault During Class and Lapse in Supervision

The incident occurred on December 26 last year during a sports class held in the school gymnasium. According to the police investigation, A and two others are accused of jointly assaulting a classmate, causing injury. Police also confirmed that the teacher in charge of supervising students was absent from the gymnasium at the time of the incident.  

 

Upon receiving the report, police conducted an investigation for about a month based on witness statements and related evidence. Officers determined that the suspects had used physical force to harm their classmate and found sufficient evidence to substantiate the charges. The three suspects were referred to prosecutors on January 22, concluding the investigation.  

 

The middle school in question had also been the subject of controversy in 2024, when four students were investigated by police for allegedly using deepfake technology to create and distribute obscene materials. The recurrence of school violence incidents is once again drawing public concern.  \
