[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 2025년을 마무리하고 새해 첫 순간을 시민과 함께 맞이하기 위한 ‘2026 새해맞이 부산 시민의 종 타종행사’를 1월 1일 0시 용두산공원에서 개최한다.

이번 타종행사는 사전행사와 송년음악제, 카운트다운, 타종식, 신년사, 축포로 이어지며 시민 참여형 프로그램과 휴식 공간도 운영된다. 오후 6시부터 포토존과 느린 우체통 등 체험 프로그램이 마련되고, 밤 11시부터는 밝고 경쾌한 음악으로 한 해를 마무리하는 송년음악제가 열린다.  

카운트다운은 밤 11시 45분부터 시민이 직접 작성한 새해 응원 메시지를 함께 펼치는 이벤트로 진행된다. 이어 자정을 알리는 타종에는 시장과 시의회 의장 등 기관장 5명, 시민대표 16명 등 총 21명이 참여해 희망, 사랑, 평화의 의미를 담은 33회의 종을 울린다.  

시민 타종자로는 방송인 한상진, 발레리나 김주원, 오영훈 경정, 의인 임지훈, 야구선수 전준우, 유튜버 박소라 등 올해 부산을 빛낸 인물이 포함됐다. 이들은 각자의 자리에서 선행과 나눔, 시민정신을 실천한 인물로 선정됐다.  

시는 행사장 입장을 7천 명으로 제한하고, 주요 진출입로마다 안전요원을 배치해 질서유지에 나선다. 혼잡 시 추가 입장 제한과 동선 우회 조치를 시행하며, 사설 경호 인력 투입으로 안전관리를 강화한다.  

교통편의도 확대된다. 광복로 차 없는 거리 운영은 연장되고, 부산 도시철도 1~4호선은 막차 시간을 최대 2시간 늦춘다. 남포역 기준 다대포행은 오전 2시 6분, 노포행은 1시 36분까지 운행하며, 관련 시내버스 6개 노선도 새벽 1시까지 연장 운행된다.

박형준 부산시장은 “2025년은 외국인 관광객 300만 명 돌파와 세계디자인수도 선정 등 부산이 글로벌 도시로 자리 잡은 해였다”며, “2026년에는 그 성과가 시민 삶 속에서 체감될 수 있도록 따뜻하고 촘촘한 시정을 펼치겠다”고 밝혔다.

[Here’s the English translation of the article] Busan to Ring in the New Year with Citizens at Yongdusan Park Bell Ceremony

The city of Busan will host the “2026 New Year’s Busan Citizens’ Bell-Ringing Ceremony” at Yongdusan Park at midnight on January 1, welcoming the first moment of the new year with citizens.

The event will feature a lineup that includes a pre-ceremony program, a year-end concert, the countdown, the bell-ringing ceremony, the mayor’s New Year’s address, and a fireworks show. Citizens can enjoy various participatory activities and rest areas offering hot packs and beverages. From 6 p.m., visitors can join photo zone and “slow mailbox” experiences, followed by a cheerful year-end concert at 11 p.m.  

Starting at 11:45 p.m., a countdown event will take place where participants unfold message cards containing their own New Year wishes. When the clock strikes midnight, 21 bell ringers — including five institutional leaders and 16 citizen representatives — will strike the bell 33 times in three groups named “Hope,” “Love,” and “Peace,” symbolizing the start of the new year.  

Citizen representatives include actor Han Sang-jin, ballerina Kim Joo-won, Superintendent Oh Young-hoon of the Busan Western Police Station, brave citizen Lim Ji-hoon, baseball player Jeon Jun-woo, and parenting YouTuber Park Sora. They were chosen for their exemplary contributions to promoting Busan and embodying public spirit through acts of goodwill and community service.  

To ensure safety, attendance will be capped at 7,000 people. Security staff will be deployed at all entrances, and entry restrictions will be introduced if overcrowding occurs. Additional safety measures include crowd monitoring, restricted access to certain areas, and the deployment of private security personnel to maintain order.  

Public transportation services will be extended to accommodate returning visitors. The city will operate car-free zones on Gwangbok-ro for longer hours, and subway lines 1–4 will extend the last train by up to two hours. The last train from Nampo Station to Dadaepo will depart at 2:06 a.m., while the train toward Nopo will leave at 1:36 a.m. Six bus lines passing through Nampo-dong will also run until around 1 a.m.

Mayor Park Heong-joon said, “In 2025, Busan achieved remarkable milestones such as surpassing 3 million foreign tourists, designating Geumjeongsan as a national park, and being named World Design Capital. In 2026, we will continue these achievements by focusing on improving citizens’ quality of life and making ‘Busan citizen’ a title of true pride.”
