[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 금정구는 2026 대한민국을 빛낼 혁신 인물 기업 기관 브랜드 대상 시상식에서 지방자치 부문 대상을 받았다.  

금정구는 지난 6일 서울 프레스센터에서 열린 헤럴드미디어 그룹 주최 시상식에서 각 분야에서 혁신 성과를 거둔 기업 기관으로 선정됐다.  

금정구는 부산대 일원 상권 활성화를 통해 지역경제 회복의 기반을 마련하고, 서동과 금사공업지역을 중심으로 금정형 패션클러스터를 조성해 기업 성장과 창업을 지원한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.  

또한 노후주거지 정비지원사업과 재개발 재건축 7개 구역 사업 시행 인가를 통해 주거환경을 개선하고, 하하캠퍼스 국민체육센터 건립, 범어사 복합문화공간 조성, 공영주차장 확충 등으로 정주 여건과 도시 경쟁력을 강화했다.  

아울러 다양한 소통 채널을 운영해 주민 의견을 수렴하고, 지역 현안 사업 공론화 조례 제정과 위원회 출범을 통해 현안 해결의 기반을 마련한 점도 긍정적으로 평가됐다.  

윤일현 금정구청장은 이번 수상은 지역경제와 주거환경, 주민 소통을 하나의 흐름으로 이어 온 금정구의 지방자치 성과를 인정받은 결과라며 앞으로도 주민이 체감할 수 있는 변화를 만들어가는 행정을 추진하겠다고 말했다.

Geumjeong District in Busan won the Local Autonomy Award at the 2026 Korea Innovation Leaders Brand Awards, hosted by Herald Media Group, held on February 6 at the Korea Press Center in Seoul.  

The annual awards recognize companies, institutions, and individuals that have demonstrated outstanding innovation and competitiveness across various sectors. Winners were selected through expert recommendations and evaluations.  

Geumjeong District was recognized for revitalizing the commercial area around Pusan National University to boost the local economy, and for establishing the “Geumjeong Fashion Cluster” centered in Seodong and Geumsa Industrial Complexes to support business growth and startups.  

The district has also improved residential environments by promoting old housing renewal projects and approving redevelopment and reconstruction in seven zones. In addition, it has advanced urban living conditions and competitiveness through projects such as constructing the HAHA Campus National Sports Center, developing a cultural complex near Beomeosa Temple, and expanding public parking facilities.  

Geumjeong District also earned praise for strengthening communication with residents, enacting local ordinances to promote public discussion of key issues, and launching related committees to enhance civic participation and address long-standing community needs.  

Mayor Yoon Il-hyun said the award recognizes Geumjeong’s comprehensive achievements in local governance that link economic revitalization, residential improvement, and community engagement. He added that the district will continue to pursue initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to residents.
