[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산상공회의소 회장단이 해양수산부의 부산 이전 이후 처음으로 공식 방문해 환영의 뜻을 전했다.

부산상공회의소는 9일 오후 4시 30분 양재생 회장을 비롯한 회장단 14명이 부산으로 이전한 해양수산부를 방문해 김성범 장관 직무대행과 간담회를 가졌다고 밝혔다. 이날 간담회에는 기획조정실장, 해양정책실장, 수산정책실장, 북극항로추진본부장 등 해수부 주요 간부들도 참석했다.

이번 만남은 해양수산부 부산 이전 이후 지역 상공계와의 첫 공식 교류로, 해수부의 부산 안착을 축하하고 지역 현안 해결을 위한 협력과 소통을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다. 부산상의는 앞서 지난해 11월에도 세종 청사를 방문해 해수부와의 상시 소통 채널을 구축한 바 있다.

양재생 회장은 “해양수산부의 부산 시대 개막을 지역 경제계가 환영한다”며 “정책과 산업 간 물리적·심리적 거리가 줄어든 만큼 기업 애로 해결과 성장 기회가 더욱 확대될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다. 이어 “해수부가 현장에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 적극 협력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

부산상의는 앞으로 해수부와의 정례 회의를 비롯해 해양수도 부산 실현을 위한 협력 체계를 지속적으로 강화해 나갈 방침이다.

Senior executives of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry paid their first official visit to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries following its relocation to Busan, welcoming the ministry’s move and pledging closer cooperation.

The chamber said Monday that Chairman Yang Jae-saeng and 14 other executives visited the ministry at 4:30 p.m. and held talks with Acting Minister Kim Sung-bum. Senior ministry officials, including the heads of planning and coordination, maritime policy, fisheries policy and the Arctic Shipping Route Promotion Headquarters, also attended the meeting.

The visit marked the first formal meeting between the local business community and the ministry since its relocation to Busan in December. It was aimed at supporting the ministry’s successful settlement in the city and strengthening communication to address regional economic issues.

The Busan chamber has actively worked to build ties with the ministry, including a visit to its Sejong offices last November to establish regular communication channels ahead of the relocation.

Yang said the local business community warmly welcomes the opening of the ministry’s Busan era, noting that the physical and psychological distance between policymakers and industry has effectively disappeared. He said the combination of Busan’s global logistics infrastructure and the ministry’s policy capacity is expected to speed up the resolution of business challenges and expand growth opportunities.

The chamber said it plans to further institutionalize cooperation with the ministry through regular meetings and other initiatives aimed at reinforcing Busan’s role as a maritime capital.
