[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시는 23일 강서구 에코델타시티에서 ‘부산진해경제자유구역 북측진입도로(장낙대교)’ 건설공사 기공식을 열고 본격적인 공사에 들어갔다.  

이날 오전 10시 30분 진행된 기공식에는 성희엽 부산시 미래혁신부시장과 이종환 시의회 부의장을 비롯해 구청장, 시·구의원, 지역주민 등 250여 명이 참석했다. 행사는 국민의례와 사업경과 보고, 기념사, 축사, 기공 퍼포먼스 등의 순으로 약 40분간 진행됐다.  

낙동강 건너는 1.53㎞ 6차로 교량  

장낙대교는 강서구 생곡동에서 명지동 에코델타시티를 잇는 총연장 1.53킬로미터, 왕복 6차로 규모로 건설된다. 이번 사업은 서부산권의 교통 수요에 대응하고 기존 낙동강 교량의 교통 혼잡을 완화하기 위해 추진돼 왔다.  

환경·행정절차 마무리 후 착공  

2015년 부산진해경제자유구역 개발계획에 반영된 이후, 2017년 기획재정부의 예비타당성조사를 통과하며 사업성을 인정받았다. 시는 환경단체와 주민 의견을 수렴해 2023년 소규모 환경영향평가를 완료하고 2024년 문화유산 현상변경 승인을 받아 행정절차를 모두 마쳤다. 실시설계는 지난해 12월 마무리됐다.  

이번 공사는 대저대교, 엄궁대교에 이어 세 번째 낙동강 횡단교량으로, 2030년 말 완공을 목표로 추진된다.

“서부산 교통 혁신 기대”  

박형준 부산시장은 “장낙대교는 에코델타시티와 북항 배후도로를 잇는 동서 3축 핵심 인프라로 서부산권 물류 이동을 획기적으로 개선할 것”이라며 “지역균형발전과 신성장 거점 연결에도 큰 역할을 할 것”이라고 말했다.  

그는 이어 “부산이 글로벌 허브 도시로 도약하기 위한 동서 통합의 관문시설로서, 시민이 안전하고 편리하게 이용하도록 완공까지 최선을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였다.

The city of Busan on Monday broke ground for the Jangnak Bridge, a major project to connect the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone with Eco Delta City, marking the start of full-scale construction.  

The ceremony took place at 10:30 a.m. in Gangseo District near Eco Delta City, with about 250 participants, including Vice Mayor for Future Innovation Seong Hee-yeob, Busan City Council Vice Chairman Lee Jong-hwan, local officials, and residents.  

The event lasted around 40 minutes and included the national ceremony, introductions, project briefing, congratulatory speeches, and a groundbreaking performance.  

1.53-Kilometer, Six-Lane Bridge  

The Jangnak Bridge will stretch 1.53 kilometers from Saenggok-dong in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone to Myeongji-dong in Eco Delta City. Designed as a six-lane road, it aims to ease traffic congestion on existing bridges over the Nakdong River and improve accessibility across western Busan.  

Environmental and Administrative Hurdles Cleared  

The project was first included in the Free Economic Zone’s development plan in 2015 and passed a preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in 2017. 

After years of coordination with residents, environmental groups, and government agencies, Busan completed key administrative steps including a small-scale environmental impact assessment in September 2023 and heritage approval in October 2024. The final design was completed in December 2024.  

Construction officially began in December 2025 and the city plans to complete the bridge by the end of 2030, following earlier crossings such as Daejeo Bridge and Eomgung Bridge.  

“Key to West Busan’s Growth”  

Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon said the Jangnak Bridge will serve as a key east-west transportation hub, linking Eco Delta City, Eomgung Bridge, and North Port access roads.  

“This project will significantly improve logistics and traffic flow in western Busan, connecting new growth hubs and promoting balanced regional development,” Park said. 

He added that the city will ensure safe and efficient construction, emphasizing the project’s role as a gateway to Busan’s vision of becoming a “global hub city.”
